and Celimage announce Joint Venture Project to establish High Resolution Digital Picture Archive
and Electronic Distribution Center in Luxembourg

Europe Online Investments S.A., owner of one of the world's largest digital broadband convergence
networks via satellite and Celimage S.A have announced the creation of a high resolution digital
picture archive and electronic distribution center in Luxembourg.
Celartem Technology Inc. Japan, leading software developer for electronic imaging was chosen by
Celimage to provide the technology. (Content format and distribution)
Scala Spa of Florence, Italy , leading European museum image archives will be the first content
provider of Celimage.
Both Europe Online Investments S.A. and Celimage S.A. are based at the Media Center in Betzdorf,
Luxembourg, home of the world's largest satellite system, SES Global.
In the framework of the Joint Venture project,
Europe Online Investments S.A. will be responsible for hosting the digital picture archive at its
world-class network operations center in Betzdorf as well as being an Application Service Provider
(ASP) and Network Distributor for the Celimage Service. The Celimage service consists of offering
high-resolution digital images for reproduction to publishers around the world and then to the
public at large.
Scala and Celartem respectively, have
one of the largest museum image digital archive in the world and the well-known VFZ technology
permitting image reproductions on a scale of 2.5 to 1600%. The powerful concentration of art and
technology of Celimage responds to a real professional need of image users and publishers to have
access to high quality art images for reproduction and sale.
The next step from the B2B
market to the B2C market where we could offer our broadband Internet via satellite users "print
on demand" of high quality images is of course an exciting project indeed, said Candace Johnson,
